Volunteer Opportunities

• Teaching
  
  We prefer to place people in teaching positions who have had either formal or informal experience or training in the field of teaching. Formal training consists of a valid teaching credential or classroom experience in an accredited institution. Informal experience may include non-traditional classroom settings or teaching situations in which a skill for teaching is required and well demonstrated.
  
  
• Assisting
  
  In each of our teaching locations, we have need of at least one or more volunteer assistants. The duties of an assistant may include conducting small group discussions, participating in all class activities, providing assistance to individual students as needed, and interacting with the teacher to provide meaningful demonstrations of conversational English. On occasion, it is necessary for an assistant to step in temporarily as the teacher in the event that one of the team's teachers is ill or unable to conduct class. TCR provides appropriate support to the assistant in this event. Assistants are not required to have teaching experience, however, some informal experience in leadership positions is beneficial.
  
  
• Training Camp Helpers
  
  The training camp held in May provides food and lodging for all the team members. If you are interested in volunteering your help with the training camp, we have needs in the following areas:
  
  • Trailers/RV's/Campers for Lodging
  • Portable Computers
    (For teachers to view teaching rescources and record plans)
  • Cooks / Food Preparation
